It’s kind of funny that Valentine’s Day comes during the winter, because it’s one of the most challenging times to keep your lips looking super fresh. Even when you’re constantly moisturizing, you run the risk of having dry lips when you apply the wrong coloured product.

Enter YSL Beauté new Volupté Liquid Colour Balm, an amazing new product that leaves lips perfectly moisturized while adding a gorgeous tint that lasts through the day (and multiples coffees - we did the test!)

We got three gorgeous shades from the brand, all of which would look great on all skin tones. So go on, pucker up.

Diana Aldea

The name might be new to you, but Diana’s has been developing content for major brands for over a decade. She’s worked in advertising, ecommerce, broadcast TV and the public sector. That’s nice and all, but what does she know about lipstick? Aside from wearing it since the tender age of 11, she’s been a beauty contributor to WoahStyle since its inception, and actually pushed Nathalie to create the brand. She’s also real AF, so she ain’t gonna lie to you about products and how they work.

The Perfect Holiday Reds

The Perfect Red Lipstick For The Holidays - for everyone - lipsick.me_5987.jpg

With Christmas only two sleeps away, I thought it would be fun to gather the best festive red shades for the holidays. These shades are bright, bold, playful, and perfect for puckering up under the mistletoe.

Red lipstick goes with everything, from that little black dress to a cozy knit and a pair of jeans but no doubt you'll always look chic.

From mattes, sheers, liquid lipsticks, cream formulas and shiny lip gloss, we've gathered up the perfect red lipsticks for the holiday season and beyond. I should also mention that my skin tone is light-medium with a yellow undertone and all of these shades work for me.

For extra staying power during the holidays, make sure you line and fill in your lips with the same shade of lip liner first and trust me, that lipstick isn't going anywhere.

YSL Volupté Tint-in-Balm

When it comes to lipsticks with ultra-luxurious packaging, few brands do it well. These YSL Volupté Tint-in-Balms might just be the chicest lip balms I've ever tried. While the formula is really nice and sleek on the lips, it's the packaging that won my heart over. What do you expect from a girl with a crazy collection of Saint Laurent shoes and bags?

Not only do these balms look good on your vanity, but they're also fun to play with. The sheer colours are as shiny as the sleek silver tube and perfect for summer. If you're the kinda girl who prefers lip balms and sheer tints over lipstick, you're gonna love these. They leave a subtle kiss of colour on the lips with a subtle peachy taste and scent that's light and pleasant.

The collection has eleven shades in total and I have three of the colours to review for you here - all in the pink family. Tease Me Pink (soft rose pink), Play Me Fuchsia (hot-pink fuchsia), and Seduce me Pink (luscious berry). I normally prefer coral, orange and red shades for my warm-medium skin tone, so I naturally gravitated towards Seduce Me Pink, the deepest of the three shades and the one with less pink.

The longevity is exactly what one would expect from a shiny lip balm, which isn't much. A few sips of water later and you'll be reaching for that pretty silver YSL tube to reapply. On the other hand, the formula is pretty hydrating and feels good on the lips thanks to the apricot butter and jojoba oil.

If you're looking for more longevity, I'd recommend lining your lips with lip pencil first so the balm has something to stick to. It's my favourite trick to making tinted balms last longer.

The tops of the lip balms have the cutest details of a silhouette of a lip that goes all the way to the bottom of the tube so it never runs out. It's the attention to detail like this, and the beautiful silver bullet with the gold YSL raised letters that makes these balms so special. Sure, the formula is great but I just can't get over the beautiful packaging!
