The Perfect Summer Lip?! LANCÔME Mademoiselle Shine Lipsticks, Review + Swatches

With summer here I’ve switched my usual matte lipstick for something lighter. These new Lancôme L’Absolu Mademoiselle Shine lipsticks launched last month and I’m already addicted to them.

They feel like a juicy lip balm on the lips but have a lighter consistency than a gloss or a lipstick.

The shiny finish almost reminds me of a gloss, but it feels and looks more natural. Almost like your lips but better.

The shades are also buildable - dab it on for a sheer wash of colour or apply it straight from the bullet for a stronger pigment. Alternatively, line your entire lips with a matching lip liner for a full colour pay off with a glossy finish that will last.

Speaking of which, the longevity of these Mademoiselle Shine lippies is pretty good. It lasts through food and drinks, which I’m a big fan of.

Finally, if you’re sensitive to smells then you’ll appreciate these. There’s no offensive odor or taste and, doesn’t have that usual Lancôme lipstick smell. Hands up if you know what I’m talking about.

That aside, definitely check these out if you’re a fan of tinted lipsticks.

LANCÔME L'Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick

What is it about Lancôme lipsticks that gives them that distinct Lancôme scent? Hands up if you know what I’m talking about. The brand has released some truly amazing products recently, like their Brôw Densify Powder-to-Cream (which is now one of my ride or die faves) and the limited edition collection of Prismatic Plump Lip Glosses. The L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick is without a doubt an exceptional formula that I’ve been loving recently.

Unlike those matte lipsticks that leave my lips feeling like a crusty desert, desperately pleading hydration, these Lancôme beauties are luscious, creamy, fully pigmented and most importantly, not at all drying so you can put the lip balm away. (I’m looking at you KVD.)

From the pale pinky nude Ardent Sand to the rich navy shade called Saphir Absolu, and my personal fave, Adoration, a classic blue red, there’s sure to be something for everyone in the 22 shade line up.

Lucky for us, they also have legit stay powder so you can skip the lip liner. (Unless you’re like me and need a good outline so you don’t accidentally end up looking like the Joker.)

At $40 (CAD) a tube, these luxurious lipsticks are totally every penny. I’d highly recommend trying these out and enjoying that signature Lancôme lipstick scent for yourself.

LANCÔME L'Absolu Lacquer

LIPSICK.ME - lancome-labsolu-lacquer review - beauty blog - toronto_2776.jpg

At LIPSICK, we’re guilty of carrying multiple lip products with us on the daily. When you leave the house you may be in the mood for gloss, but after lunch, sometimes you want to go matte. Decisions, decisions.

When we first received Lancôme's L'Absolu Lacquer, we were immediately impressed by the gorgeous range of colours. After trying them, we were blown away the gorgeous triple threat formula – it’s a gloss, lipstick and stain all-in-one!

The lightweight, ultra-thin formula coats your lips with bold colour and a gorgeous lacquered shiny finish. Use one coat for a sheer, natural look, two for more intensity and three for a dramatic look with serious, mega-watt shine. We put it to the test, and wow does it last, even after a drink (or two, cough, three).

L'Absolu Lacquer is available in 30 shades – from classic nudes to vivid, showstopping colour. They’re made in France and now available everywhere Lancôme is sold.

Diana Aldea

The name might be new to you, but Diana’s has been developing content for major brands for over a decade. She’s worked in advertising, ecommerce, broadcast TV and the public sector. That’s nice and all, but what does she know about lipstick? Aside from wearing it since the tender age of 11, she’s been a beauty contributor to WoahStyle since its inception, and actually pushed Nathalie to create the brand. She’s also real AF, so she ain’t gonna lie to you about products and how they work.
