L'ORÉAL x ISABEL MARANT: THE ENTIRE WANTED COLLECTION

The collaboration I’ve been waiting for since it’s announcement is finally here - L’Oréal x Isabel Marant!

Called the WANTED collection, it consists of seven matte lipsticks, a lip gloss in a universally flattering pink, clear brow/lash mascara, a duo eyeshadow palette, and a peachy-pink highlighter/glow product that comes in a little pot for on the go application.

I feel like the Parisian designer stayed true to her voice in her first ever makeup line and even though the collection feels small, it makes a lot of sense. Like her eponymous fashion line, all of the shades can be easily dressed up for evening, or dressed down during the day.

Think of a nude lip and rosy cheek for a Sunday afternoon, or, a red lip and soft black eyeshadow for a night out. The shades celebrate woman without being too overt or sexy and focuses more on her individuality to bring the makeup to life.

Honestly, I’m just relieved all of the shades are flattering and wearable for every day. It’s my biggest pet peeve when makeup brands collaborate with someone only to come out with unwearable crayon-coloured shades that barely suit anyone.

As a big Isabel Marant fan myself (she’s honestly one of my favourite designers), I can safely say that everyone will enjoy these incredibly chic shades.

The limited edition collab is out now at loreal.ca and at retailers where L’Oréal Paris is sold.

BELLEVILLE RODEO - dark purple red
PIGALLE WESTERN - bright red pink

Each matte lipstick says “SMILE” on one side and “WEAR NOTHING BUT A SMILE AND YOUR STYLE” on the other side. Sooooo Isabel Marant!

ISABEL MARANT MAGIC BEAUTIFIER LIP GLOSS AMAZE

The product I turned out to really be impressed is the AMAZE lip gloss that comes in one shade - a sheer soft magenta-y pink shade that can be used on the lips and cheeks and that’s said to be universally flattering but I’ve only tried it on my light-medium olive skin and I freakin’ love it!

ISABEL MARANT DUO EYESHADOW

The duo eyeshadow pan created for the WANTED collab features a matte black which is perfect for using as eyeliner, and an iridescent black/teal shade that has an elegant pop to it. Use it with makeup brushes or apply it with your fingers for a “perfectly imperfect” look.

ISABEL MARANT UNIVERSAL HIGHLIGHTER SHINE

Since this entire collaboration is so, so good, I almost hate to admit that the highlighter is the one product I could do without. It’s a said to be a universal illuminator but it’s on the matte side and there’s hardly any reflects it in. It feels like a silicone based product and has that silicone texture I don’t like.

I applied it over top of my cheeks on a day I was wearing a light powder foundation and it actually disturbed my makeup. Honestly, I can’t figure out how to use this product or what it’s for. If you figure it out, please leave me a comment! Maybe I’m using it all wrong!
